Welcome to the Retreats at South Water Manor.

Beautifully situated on the grounds of the historic, FitzGerald Manor, blocks from the bustling downtown of Gallatin, Tennessee, these beautiful guesthouses exude historical charm while boasting the luxurious amenities of today. Originally built in the 1860s, and used as servants quarters and a summer kitchen, they each underwent a complete renovation in 2023. Stripping off layers of plaster to expose the original brick walls, built from bricks made right on the property, created a beautiful backdrop for the space. Architectural details and nuances to the past make a stay in the Retreats both educational and relaxing.

Eat, shop, explore, and sleep all in one beautiful location!

The Retreats consist of two beautiful, stand alone units, able to be rented together or separately, and designed to sleep two adults in each guesthouse. Between the two guesthouses, is an expansive patio area with a large pergola, partially covered to allow a sheltered entrance access area, but also a beautiful seating area with outdoor furniture and a gas fire pit where you can enjoy looking up at the stars. Enclosed enough to create shelter and security, but positioned with a few yards of South Water Manor, guests have the opportunity to enjoy all that the Manor has to offer.

Food, dining, & coffee...

Each guesthouse has a beautiful kitchenette equipped with an undercounter refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, and a French press for tea or coffee. Enjoy fresh ground coffee or our house blended tea in morning. However, as a Retreat guest, you have the opportunity to enjoy meals from Bistro 562 & Coffee House, our in-house restaurant. We are proud to have an extremely talented team of cooks that serve breakfast and lunch in the kitchen. The coffee, locally roasted specifically for the Bistro, is notably the best coffee in town. A full bakery provides daily treats and sweets to satisfy your cravings!
